The Dallas Regional held at the University of Dallas had 44 attendees. We had great conversation on Monday that started out with bankruptcy, CFPB, deceased students,student workers & FERPA & international students and how different schools handle. Tuesday we broke into groups and discussed different payment systems. The rest we sat in groups and discussed systems. Overall discussions and learning was valuable for everyone.

The 2012 Texas BUC$ conference featured speaker Major General Mary Saunders who graduated from TWU in 1970 and became the highest ranking African-American woman in the United States Air Force, serves as director of the TWU's Leadership Institute. Monday night's entertainment was at 300 Dallas (bowling with a twist). Tuesday's featured speaker was Dr. Mark Taylor. Click here for more information.

The Dallas regional was the best ever. We had 45 attendees. This was the best turn out yet in our history. Mary Ann Frye and Paola Sotomayor directed the regional. This was a first time that board members didn't run the show. We found that this was a great education for Mary Ann and Paola on how to put on a small conference. They did a wonderful job. I appreciate the hard work and dedication they put into the regional. We had lot's of discussion, lot's of food and several fun games.
The Southern Regional was held in San Antonio on April 2 and 3 on the beautiful Trinity University campus. Judy Schwab and her team made it easy to find the meeting spot with colorful Texas BUC$ direction signs all along the walk way. There were about 19 attendees from 7 institutions along with 7 of our Platinum exhibitors. Lots of great topics were discussed including veteran’s benefits, return of Title IV aid and the growing debt, Texas Guaranteed Promise fund, red flag rules, and collections.
