What does arms crossed, eyes darting back and forth, failure to look at someone eye to eye and fidgeting mean? By attending this session on how to read people's mannerisms you will be able to gauge how you are being received by those you are speaking with. You will learn tips to help you adjust your conversation for the most impact as well as protect yourself from someone who may be getting ready to become violent or argumentative. Russell has 20 plus years of training and experience dealing with tense and sometimes frightening situations. He is an ordained minister (24 years), firefighter/EMT (16 years) and a trained chaplain for The Department of Homeland Security and FEMA. Let his experience give you some insight into surviving difficult situations and still keep your own composure intact.
Russell Kuhns began his college career while attending Central Bible College in Springfield MO. He served as the Student Loan Collection Officer and Accounts Receivable Manager for the College. While in this capacity, he managed the Accounts Receivable department, Federal Perkins Loan Program and 5 private loans for the school. After finishing his studies at Central Bible College (Psychology and Education) he did master's studies at Southwest Missouri State University in Abnormal Psychology. Russell has a varied background in public service as well as unique training that has enhanced his understanding of how people react in stressful situations.
He has been an ordained minister for 10 years and a pastor for more than 20. He is a certified Firefighter/EMT and volunteers with his local fire department as a training officer, fireman/medical first responder and Captain. Recently, Russell completed the qualifications for the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. He serves these organizations as a front line chaplain in crisis intervention and crisis counseling. If this is not enough excitement, Russell has a full household with his wife, three sons (22, 19, and 11) two of which are full time college students and 2 year old granddaughter.
