This session covers the recent Legislative Update for Perkins Loans and legislative priorities. As a member of the COHEAO board Karen has a unique perspective on the outlook and ongoing issues surrounding this topic.

Presenter: Karen Reddick, Board of Directors, Coalition of Higher Education Assistance Organizations, Vice President Professional Development, National Credit Management
Karen is a graduate of Webster University in St. Louis. She has over 16 years of higher education experience. Karen started her career as an Admissions Officer with Missouri College for seven years dealing with all aspects of student services. She has been with National Credit Management servicing colleges and universities for over 9 years. In addition to her current duties, she is a member of the Coalition of Higher Education Assistance Organization (COHEAO) Board of Directors as the Chair of Commercial Membership Committee and is a member of the COHEAO Task Force to help preserve the future of the Perkins Loan Program. She presents at several regional and national conferences specializing in Identity Theft and Safeguarding Rules and represents COHEAO for Legislative Updates. Karen has had the prestigious honor to have been awarded the 2010 Commercial Member of the Year for COHEAO and the 2009 KASRO Lou Darnell Award.

However her most prized possession is her family. She has two children Kris, 11 and Stephen, 10 and is married to John, St. Louis County Police Officer, for 12 years.
