Presenter: Linda Fernandez, Texas Tomorrow Funds
Linda has been the Program Manager and Chief Financial Officer of the Texas Tomorrow Funds program since May 2007. The $2 billion prepaid tuition and college savings plans include the Texas Tuition Promise Fund, the Texas Guaranteed Tuition Plan, the Texas College Savings Plan, and the LoneStar 529 Plan. She is also the manager of the Jobs and Education in Texas (JET) program that will award $25 million in grants and scholarships to nonprofit organizations and community and technical colleges during the 2010-2011 biennium to prepare low income students for careers in high-demand occupations. Linda has over 30 years of experience with the State of Texas including serving as Division Director and Chief Financial Officer at the Department of Information Resources, serving as the Financial Manager of the Texas Lottery at start-up and serving as the Director of Financial Services for the State Bar of Texas. Linda attended the University of Texas at Austin.
