The Southern Regional was held in San Antonio on April 2 and 3 on the beautiful Trinity University campus. Judy Schwab and her team made it easy to find the meeting spot with colorful Texas BUC$ direction signs all along the walk way. There were about 19 attendees from 7 institutions along with 7 of our Platinum exhibitors. Lots of great topics were discussed including veteran’s benefits, return of Title IV aid and the growing debt, Texas Guaranteed Promise fund, red flag rules, and collections. We had another great Regional meeting in The Woodlands last week hosted by Lone Star College! I wanted to say Thank You to Diane Novak and Leticia Batiste for the wonderful accommodations. We had 20 attendees and 6 Platinum Exhibitors. On the last day everyone shared with the group something new they learned and we had full participation so it’s good to know that everyone came away with new things to take back. A great session was presented by Matthew Boyden, U S Postal Inspector, Thanks to everyone who helped make this a very successful meeting!  read more »

We had a great turn out at the UNT regional! The attendance was 38, with 8 of those being exhibitors. We had several new faces and lots of positive comments about the meeting. Lots of good information was shared and lots of great networking.

Abilene Christian University hosted the final regional meeting of 2010 on May 24-25. The hospitality of the ACU staff was phenomenal! Everyone enjoyed signature purple shakes and t-shirts courtesy of ACU and the facilities were absolutely beautiful.
The discussions among all of the institutions were very insightful and as always, everyone learned something new to take back to their office. The information shared by colleagues and friends was greatly appreciated.  read more »

The University of the Incarnate Word hosted the third Texas BUCS regional meeting in San Antonio on April 19-20. In spite of inclement weather, the city was in a festive spirit as the annual Fiesta celebration began. Nora Cadena from UIW was instrumental in preparing for the meeting which was attended by 34 student business representatives from institutions across the state. There was a lot of compelling dialogue that focused on many topics related to student business services.  read more »
