What a great success BUC$ 2008 was! It was definitely Happening...in Austin!! The Texas BUC$ Board of Directors extends a Texas sized heartfelt thanks to our attendees and exhibitors for their extraordinary support and participation which resulted in the best BUC$ annual conference yet! There have been many positive comments and kudos about the sessions, presenters and entertainment. We encourage you to take a few moments to complete the online 2008 Conference evaluation and Session evaluation forms, as we welcome and value your input. In the Spring, you and your staff will have the opportunity to attend a BUC$ Regional Meeting near you, or of your choice, that best suits your schedule. These low cost and informal meetings provide a wonderful opportunity for networking, sharing ideas, and discussion of current industry trends. Attendees of these meetings typically come away with the understanding that they are not alone in the daily trials, tribulations and successes of student business service and with a wealth of useful information. Save the dates, October 11 – 14 for the 2009 annual conference! The setting for BUC$ on the Beach will be the Omni Bayfront Hotel in Corpus Christi, a first for Texas BUC$. Plans are well underway for a conference which promises to be another educational and fun filled opportunity! We are planning to have Kathryn Childers, one of the first five females serving in the U.S. Secret Service, as our guest speaker and the return of Dr. Mark Taylor ( as well as many other informative sessions from which the attendees are sure to find useful tips to utilize in their professional roles. Our featured entertainment will be a beach party on Sunday evening and a dinner cruise and live band on Monday evening.
